Stéréo
2022
It is not easy for me to write an argument, as I compose my shows as puzzles where each spectator can assemble the pieces as he or she wishes.
I thought of « Drastic Classicism » by Karole Armitage. An overflowing punk rock energy, on the verge of rupture, through which dancers and musicians mix and mingle. It was a revelation to me.
I also thought of several movies, such as : « Stop making sense », by Jonathan Demme, focusing on a Talking Heads concert, « Rude Boy » by Jack Hazan and David Mingay, about a Clash tour, « Phantom of the Paradise » by Brian de Palma, music by Paul Williams, «Groundhog Day » by Harold Ramis, with Bill Murray.
Stéréo is the result of a desire for speed, brilliance, virtuosity, energy, rock'n roll.
A raw energy which would be the essence of the show, carried by a young team with multiple and complementary talents.
On the basis of a rock trio, guitar, bass and drum, I am looking for a graphic, organic dance embracing acrobatics as an enjoyable and spectacular complement, a dynamic dance bouncing and sparkling until breathlessness.
The form is hybrid, between a concert and a show, and music and dance merge together. Bodies oscillate between energy and softness, speed and tenderness.
It is also a play with time which, as in life, contracts, stretches or repeats itself in infinite variations. Through these loops we talk about love, always, we play with, thwart and distort stereotypes and archetypes in order to rearrange them in explosive combinations.
