Boris Verkhovsky
A former athlete with the Russian men's national acrobatic team, Boris Verkhovsky emigrated to Canada in 1978 after studying physical education and sports in Belarus, specializing in coaching. He eventually became head coach of the Canadian national trampoline and tumbling team. In 1993, Cirque du Soleil offered him the job of consultant for a proposed act in the show Mystère. He was then hired as head acrobatic trainer and is now director of acrobatic performance and coaching. He also contributes his expertise to the design of acrobatic numbers for new shows. Iris marks Boris Verkhovsky's first collaboration with a Cirque du Soleil show as Acrobatic Performance Designer.
