Christophe Waksmann
Initially a photographer, Christophe Waksmann also studied audio-visual communication and dance in Grenoble. He started out as a dancer in 1989 with the Scalène company.
A performer at the Albertville Olympic Games, he joined the DCA / Philippe Decouflé company in 1994, collaborating in dance and video on Petites pièces montées, Décodex, Triton2ter, Iiris, Sombrero, Octopus, Tout Doit Disparaître, and Shazam!.
After 30 years on stage, he turned to film and animation design for live performance.
In 2011 and 2016 he created the video projections for two Cirque du soleil shows: Iris in Los Angeles and Paramour on Broadway. Back in France, he works with director Hédi Tillette de Clermont Tonnerre on six of his plays, and produces five video creations for Bordeaux choreographer Hamid Benmahi.
In opera, he worked on The Consul, La flute enchantée, Marlène Balène and La Petite Sirène as projection designer for director Bérénice Collet.
In 2024, he designed the videos Fugacités, an encounter between baroque music and urban culture, a collaboration between Franck-Emmanuel Comte, Bérénice Collet and Mourad Merzouki.
Most recently, he created the animations for the musical concerto Metamorphosis, in which he brought to life twelve illustrations by the famous cartoonist Moebius.
He is back on the stage as a dancer in 2025 in Entre-Temps by Philippe Decouflé.
